Happy Easter

I haven't blogged in awhile so I needed to get on here and wish you all a Happy Easter! We will all celebrate in our own ways, and some might not celebrate at all but hopefully we all keep in sight what's important on holidays... whoever you spend the day with make sure you spend it right.. no drama, arguing or other nonsense. Stay peaceful, grateful and kind. Appreciate those in your life that love you and are there for you, take time to be kind... Life is short, make memories and let stress melt away... for my fellow Christians, remember today is a day to rejoice in the spirit of Jesus and thank him for his sacrifice... Again, Happy Easter, stay blessed and love each other because hate eats the soul and takes too much time away! Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.8

Proud of my Mom

My Mom is such a creative person... she has been my whole life... as a little girl I longed to be able to sketch like my Mom, she wrote poetry so beautifully and always had that special touch to everything... I know she's always wanted to have a little shop to showcase and sell her work but it just hasn't happened. About the last year or so she's really gotten into designing handmade jewelry. Each piece she designed encouraged her to do more. Finding the time to sit down and really work on the pieces I know isn't always easy but she's really put her all into it lately and now she has her own webpage! PetalsoftCreations Artisan Studio ArtFire Buy & Sell Handmade Now that I've shared the page let me talk a bit more about my personal feelings towards this and how it inspires me. She decided to do something, took a risk and followed though... this is my Mom! If my Mom can do this, then maybe I can follow in her steps and be just as awesome. I know she...

Lost Dreams

It's 2011, times are tough and everyone is out here grinding to get to the top... So many have lost their jobs due to the recession and have to take jobs doing whatever comes their way just to have food on the table and a roof over their head. Not many really want to flip burgers or work the local department store register but if you want to survive we do what we have to do. It's how the country works... if there was noone flipping burgers, where would we get our food? What does this have to do with dreams? well a lot.... As a child one of the questions we are asked most often is what do you want to be when you grow up? Some ponder this and reply with whatever their mommy or daddy does, others reply doctor or fireman, some just don't know. We are told we can do anything! We can concure the world if we work hard, pay attention and try.. then real world hits... you gradute school and have more bills than zeros on your check, you get pregnant, or hurt yourself and lose a s...

Our Mail System

I know there are millions of hard working postal workers making sure people get their letters, bills, parcels and more each day. They venture out into the cold, heat, rain, snow and more to do a job and I appreciate it. That being said isn't it time for a change? It's 2011 and we are still depending on a service that quite honestly is slow, undependable and usually carries more junk to out door than needed materials. We have no way to track most mail which means no way to verify it was sent, it was received or if it was taken somewhere along the way. If you can't tell already I'm waiting on mail, not just any mail either... I'm waiting on money. A check I usually receive every other Friday has not came, and its now the following Tuesday. Of course this check was sent VIA our lovely unites states postal service so where is it now? Noone knows.... I've been told as of today I have to allow 14 days before they will stop payment and send a new one. blah... ...

Jax idol

For those that don't know Jax idol just started their 8th Season and if you've got vocal skills, you need to audition! Last Saturday was the first audition and this coming Saturday, April 9th is the last chance to try out. You must register from 11am-2pm to get a spot and I promise you want to be there early, as the place got PACKED last Saturday. I was there to check out the process because when idol ends I will be hosting Jacksonvilles Got Talent (exciting!!!) and I wanna absorb all the info I can! Everything is run beautifully with a close crew of people who enjoy helping out Independent Artists, and having a good time while getting work in. You sign up, meet new people, and the brand new host of the show, Luke Hazel, keeps everyone pumped and excited while waiting. Everyone is singing, eating and networking. People brought friends and family for support and encouragement. Then you walk down that hall and stand on an x in front of 3 judges, including the shows creator ...

Advantage

My life has always been lived for others... I support this person, parent another, promote for one and advise 2 more... I'm not saying I don't look out for myself, I'm saying I put my needs and wants on the back burner way too often... I'm a strong intelligent female and it seems I'm always playing second fiddle to someone else.. is this my fault or my destiny? It's nothing I've really noticed until this very point. I always talk about you can't do for noone else unless you do for yourself and I'm not fully living that philosophy!!! Talk about an eye opener... people know me but only by connecting the dots. I'm trying to build an Empire and that ain't happening if I don't start pushing myself even more and stop taking the bull ish others toss my way... I've been in music quite a few years and let me tell u all, this ish ain't easy. People lie, cheat, scam and more... the stories I've seen and heard should he in a book s...

Autism Month

I'm currently watching The Talk... I catch it every so often and today they are discussing autism for Autism Awareness Month. I don't have a personal story to tie to this disease. Noone real close that has been affected. I have however watched and read a lot of things discussing it. Holly Robinson Peete from The Talk has a son with husband Rodney Peete that was diagnosed with autism at 3 years of age. Her story really touched me and I know there are many of you that probably did not see her story. I encourage each of you to Hulu the show. Both Peete's run the Holly Rod Foundation which helps people with both Parkinsons and Autism. The website is www.hollyrod.org For any parent out there who have children with autism or have concerns about their child's behavior can visit the site for more information. The internet is a beautiful thing in regards to information... parents 20 years ago didn't have the tools of the world wide web to find information they needed. I...
